Check Out Fired Up Peoples Holiday Program
Holiday Programs in January 2020 are now open for registration.
Come and meet other families, hang out with Hayley & Jordan, the Fired Up People facilitators and help your child consolidate some skills.
See below for details and regiatration.
Busy Fingers – Fine Motor Skills
Our ‘Busy Fingers’ holiday program group is designed to assist your child in developing their fine motor skills. Such skills are required for a variety of activities such as dressing (buttons, zips and laces), handwriting (pencil grasp and control) and feeding (scooping a bowl with a spoon). Busy Fingers is designed to introduce you and your child to a range of activities that can be completed at home or school to help support their development in this area. Most importantly, activities are structured in a fun and enjoyable way to maximise participation with peers in a small group. With school right around the corner, why not get a head start and encourage some busy fingers!
Group includes non-standardised assessment and a summary report with recommendations for your child following completion. This can be useful to provide to school.

Makes Sense – Sensory Training Workshop
Our Sensory Training Holiday Program workshop is tailored for parents, caregivers and school staff who wish to learn more about sensory processing. The workshop aims to equip group members with the knowledge and skills required to begin to gain a deeper understanding of the senses and the role they play in everyday life. The training is hands on and interactive and begins with each member exploring who they are themselves as a sensory being. We then progress to breaking down our understanding of the senses (hint…there are more than 5!) and conclude with a discussion around practical interventions and strategies that can support the maintenance of a calm and alert state. Handouts and suggested reading lists are provided, with time allocated for questions and answers.
*A follow up session is hosted 4 weeks later to discuss the practical implementation of strategies, what did/didn’t work. This is a one hour optional session

Time: TBC (2 hours with a short bathroom break.)
Group Size: Max 10, min 5 (to allow for group discussion and 1:1 time to answer questions etc).
